At Africa Institute for Skills Development, we know that the industry of work is extremely dynamic. There is nothing like security in any career, job or even entrepreneurship. The era of sticking to a specific skill or trade to create a career and rely on it until retirement is far outmoded. At AISD, we are certain that the future of career isn’t dependent on whether there are jobs in an economy or not. Neither is entrepreneurship dependent on whether there are opportunities available. To us, everything depends on just how willing an individual is willing to learn, unlearn and relearn. As Alvin Toffler said, “The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.” Therefore, our graduates will be on the Continuous Development Program (CDP). The CDP provides our alumni with a continuous learning platform after completing our training programs. The CDP will entail the following.
- A frequent checkup on alumni with the aim of finding out how well the acquired skill(s) is being utilized. To identify what challenges their businesses are facing and offer free business development services to them. The check-ups are done once every three months.
- A Biannual Knowledge Update Newsletter; this will be newsletter that would update our students and past students with the detailed information on changes in their industry and how well they can cope with that. AISD is aware of how some recipients of the information might not have time for it. A follow up calls are made to all recipients to discuss the period’s newsletter.
- An annual compulsory CDP workshop for all past and current students. This workshop seeks to update the skills of past students on new ways of applying their skills and doing business. The workshop will be addressed by experts in all fields of business and the industries of the programs we offer.
